Cyprus enters final phase of recovery and resilience plan implementation
Cyprus is entering the final stage of its Recovery and Resilience Plan, with all associated projects expected to be completed by August 2026. European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Valdis Dombrovskis, visited Nicosia General Hospital on Saturday to review projects supported by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). To date, Cyprus has received 589 million euros in funding, with an additional 118 million euros pending, which would bring the absorption rate to approximately 70 percent. During the visit, accompanied by Finance Minister Makis Keravnos and Health Minister Neofytos Charalambides, Commissioner Dombrovskis highlighted specific investments, including over 2 million euros for the expansion of the hospital's interventional radiology unit and 1 million euros for photovoltaic installations. Additionally, over 6 million euros have been allocated for a new blood donation center in Geri. The Commissioner emphasized that completing all agreed milestones by the end of August is essential to ensure full access to available funding. Authorities expressed confidence that the commitment of all involved stakeholders will lead to the timely completion of the plan.
