Ran Ben-Shimon hospitalized after padel injury
Ran Ben-Shimon, the 55-year-old manager of the Israeli national football team and former coach of AEK Larnaca and the Cyprus national team, suffered a serious head injury on Saturday morning while playing padel. The injury resulted in a skull fracture and internal bleeding. Ben-Shimon was initially taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba before being transferred to Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer for further medical assessment, including a CT scan. His condition has shown signs of improvement, and he posted an update on social media showing himself with his children. He remains under close medical supervision to monitor his recovery. While the Israeli Football Association is optimistic about his return to duty, his future schedule, including potential upcoming matches, remains dependent on medical clearance. He is currently being monitored for complications associated with his head injury.
