Cyprus political parties enter final day before elections
As of midnight, a legal ban on political campaigning has been imposed in Cyprus ahead of the upcoming elections. During this final pre-election day, leaders of major political parties held low-key public appearances in Nicosia. Annita Dimitriou of the Democratic Rally (DISY) visited a restaurant with party candidates, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the citizens. Stefanos Stefanou of AKEL held an informal meeting at Faneromeni Square, encouraging voters to define the future of the country. Nikolas Papadopoulos, leading the Democratic Party (DIKO), dined on Ledra Street and urged citizens to participate in the voting process. Meanwhile, Christos Christou of ELAM and representatives from ALMA also held casual meetings in the capital. All party leaders signaled that the campaigning phase has concluded and the focus has shifted to the upcoming public vote. No official events or speeches are permitted until the polls open.
