Parliamentary election results in Cyprus

The 2021 parliamentary elections in Cyprus reflected significant shifts in the country's political landscape. Democratic Rally (DISY) emerged as the leading political force in five out of six electoral districts, including Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, and Famagusta. In the district of Kyrenia, AKEL secured a narrow victory with 24.47% of the vote, compared to DISY's 24.30%. Nationwide, DISY recorded strong support in Famagusta at 31.51%, while AKEL maintained a resilient presence in Larnaca with 26.33% and Famagusta with 24.42%. The Democratic Party (DIKO) saw its highest influence in Paphos at 18.47% and Kyrenia at 15%. Analysts noted that the election cycle raised questions about whether the new parliament would function as a governing body or one defined by protest. The expansion of parliament to include a wider array of parties marks a potential long-term shift in the country's post-political geography.
