Former President Nicos Anastasiades casts vote in parliamentary elections
Former President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades cast his vote at the Laniteio Lyceum in Limassol at 9:30 AM on Sunday. He was accompanied by his wife, Andri Anastasiadou, and officials from the Democratic Rally party (DISY), including Efthymios Diplaros and Fotini Tsiridou. During his statement, Anastasiades described election day as a celebration of democracy and expressed hope that this spirit of cooperation would continue after the vote. He emphasized the need for political stability and consensus, warning against the dominance of denial and self-promotion in the new parliament. Addressing the high number of candidates and party combinations, the former President remarked that 'inflation is not always beneficial' and can cause instability, though he acknowledged that every citizen has the right to seek the people's trust. He concluded his remarks with a warning, stating that once a mistake is made at the ballot box, there is no turning back. He urged the public to use their prudence to elect suitable representatives for the country's benefit.
