Singer Angela Dimitriou discusses her early life and motherhood

In an interview aired on the program 'Kalitera de Ginetai' on May 23, Greek singer Angela Dimitriou reflected on her upbringing in poverty-stricken barracks in Peristeri. Dimitriou, who is self-taught, discussed her early interest in singing and a past vocal cord surgery that required her to undergo voice training to resume her career. She disclosed that she gave birth to her son, Vangelis, at the age of 15 and a half. Due to the circumstances of that time, she was unable to raise the child, and he remained unaware of her identity as his biological mother for 27 years. Dimitriou also mentioned her daughter, Olga Kiourtsaki, noting that she dedicated specific songs to both of her children. The song 'Dyo Fones' is dedicated to her daughter, while 'Poia Thysia' was written for her son. The singer emphasized the emotional difficulty of her life experiences.
