Cyprus parliamentary election results and parliamentary seating
Cyprus held parliamentary elections to elect 56 members of the House of Representatives. The Democratic Rally (DISY) emerged as the largest party, followed by AKEL, which secured 23.9% of the vote, an increase of 1.4% compared to 2021. ELAM saw a significant surge, gaining 4% to reach 10.9% and consolidating its third-place position. Other parties entering parliament include DIKO, ALMA, and Direct Democracy, while EDEK, the Ecologists, and DIPA failed to secure representation. Key individuals were elected across districts, with high preference votes recorded for figures such as Demetris M. Demetriou and Nikos Kettiros. The official declaration of elected MPs is scheduled for noon at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre. While the political landscape has undergone shifts, the traditional party system remains largely intact. The government now faces a more challenging parliamentary environment, with only the Democratic Party remaining as its primary supporter.
