Recruitment period for contract soldiers in the National Guard announced

The Ministry of Defence of Cyprus has announced a recruitment process for contract soldiers (SYOP) to serve in the National Guard. Applications are accepted exclusively online through the government portal www.gov.cy starting from Monday, May 25, 2026, at 08:00, until Monday, July 13, 2026, at 14:00. Applicants must be registered and identified users on the portal, with verification possible via e-banking, in-person visits to Citizen Service Centers (KEP/KEPO) by appointment, or via video call. Upon the conclusion of the application period, candidates will undergo athletic testing to assess their physical fitness and specific muscle strength. For assistance, potential recruits can contact the Citizen and Conscript Service Center at 1430 or via email at syop@mod.gov.cy on weekdays between 08:00 and 15:00. The Ministry notes that this process is intended to fill existing and upcoming vacancies within the force.
