Approximately 20 people injured by unknown substance in Tokyo
Approximately 20 people were injured at a luxury shopping mall in the Ginza district of Tokyo after an unidentified man sprayed an unknown substance. Police spokesperson Yusuke Koide reported that the incident occurred on the ground floor near an ATM or an automated kiosk. Emergency services arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and deploying fire trucks and ambulances. First responders and personnel in protective gear evacuated the building to conduct medical assessments on site. While two individuals were seen being transported on stretchers, the national broadcaster NHK reported that the injuries are considered minor. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause and nature of the incident. The area remains under restricted access as investigators collect evidence.
