Paraglider and light aircraft collide over Zell am See in Austria
On Saturday, a mid-air collision occurred between a paraglider and a Cessna 172 light aircraft near the town of Zell am See, Austria. The incident took place around 13:15 over the Pinzgauer Hutte area. The 44-year-old paraglider, identified as Sabrina, was flying from Schmittenhohe towards Piesendorf when the impact occurred. Following the collision, she deployed her emergency parachute and landed safely, sustaining only minor bruises. The 28-year-old pilot of the Cessna, which was flying from the Glemm Valley, managed to maintain control and landed the aircraft at the Zell am See airport. While some reports state the paraglider was rescued by a police helicopter, official accounts confirm she survived the incident without life-threatening injuries. The pilot claimed that the collision was unavoidable. Both parties have publicly expressed relief regarding the outcome of the event.
