Ministry of Culture announces visual arts funding results for 2026

The Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus has announced the results for the 2026 Visual Arts Activity and Development Support Plan, which is part of the 'Culture III' program (2026-2030). A total of 86 applications were submitted, comprising 72 from cultural organizations and 14 from groups of natural persons. Of these, 15 applications were disqualified due to failure to meet formal requirements, while 69 received a score above 70 points, making them eligible for funding. Due to budget constraints, only the top 43 applications were selected for financing, receiving a total of €599,392. The selected projects include initiatives such as the ICPT2026 photography conference by the IAPT, projects by the Pierides Foundation, NeMe, Urban Gorillas, and Sic. Contemporary Culture, as well as various residencies and research programs. The Ministry clarified that the evaluation was based on specific program criteria and that if any selected party declines the grant, the funding will be offered to the next applicant in the ranking. The plan aims to promote Cypriot visual arts, foster international networking, and bridge artistic practice with social issues.
