Veterinary services and livestock farmers meet to discuss foot-and-mouth disease

Representatives of livestock farmer organizations met today with the Director of the Veterinary Services, Christodoulos Pipis, to discuss the management of the ongoing foot-and-mouth disease outbreak. The meeting, which took place at the Veterinary Services offices, lasted slightly over two hours. Both parties reviewed the current situation and the various measures being implemented to control the spread of the virus. Following the conclusion of the talks, it was mutually agreed that no official statements will be issued until the consultation process is fully completed. Further meetings are expected to take place as part of these ongoing efforts. The discussions aim to determine the next steps and operational protocols regarding the disease's containment.
