Former Greek footballer Paraskevas Antzas dies at 49

Former professional football player Paraskevas Antzas passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 49. He died in a hospital in Drama following a battle with a serious health condition, having spent his final days in the intensive care unit. Antzas began his career at Pandramaikos before moving to Skoda Xanthi in 1995. He is best known for his time with Olympiacos, where he won five league titles and one Greek Cup, followed by two consecutive doubles after returning to the club in 2007. He also played for Doxa Drama and represented the Greek national team throughout his career. Olympiacos FC officially confirmed his passing and expressed condolences to his family.
