Cypriot athletes compete at the Alexandrian Challenger meeting in Greece
Cypriot athletes participated in the Alexandrian Challenger meeting in Alexandria, Imathia. Iosif Kesidis set a new Cypriot national and U23 record in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 77.68 meters, placing first. Notable performances include Olivia Fotopoulou, who finished first in the women's 100m at 11.36 seconds, and Filippa Fotopoulou, who secured first place in the women's long jump with 6.71 meters. Other participants included Andreas Machallekidis, who reached 7.75 meters in the long jump, and Petros Michailidis, who threw 18.21 meters in the shot put. Anadranik Sarkis Astzian and Grigoris Nikolaou competed in the triple jump, reaching 15.91 meters and 15.62 meters respectively. Calypso Stavrou finished second in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 59.40 seconds. The competition involved various athletes across men's and women's events, with results verified by the relevant sporting authorities.
