Police investigations regarding recent crimes across Cyprus
Police in Cyprus are investigating several recent criminal cases including thefts, burglaries, and arson. Four people were arrested for a series of burglaries and thefts occurring between March and June 2026 in the Ammochostos, Paphos, and Limassol districts; two suspects were caught in Agia Napa with stolen items, while others were arrested in Paphos and Limassol. Separately, a 24-year-old man was arrested for a suspected arson case in Nicosia on May 26, 2026, which destroyed a vehicle belonging to either a 34-year-old or 35-year-old owner. Additionally, a vehicle belonging to a 65-year-old was destroyed by fire in Aradippou, which spread to two other vehicles owned by a 66-year-old and a 36-year-old. While the Nicosia incident is confirmed as arson, investigations continue in Aradippou to determine if the fire was malicious. All suspects are facing court proceedings regarding detention orders. No injuries were reported in the fires.
