Overnight police operations lead to seven arrests in Cyprus
Overnight, the Cyprus police conducted nationwide, targeted crime-prevention patrols in key urban areas. These operations resulted in seven arrests for various offenses, including drug possession, possession of offensive weapons, and illegal residency. Officers stopped and checked 345 vehicles and 146 individuals. Additionally, 31 premises were inspected, leading to three official complaints. Traffic enforcement was a primary focus, resulting in 170 citations, with 71 of these issued for speeding. Police also conducted 69 breath tests, reporting three drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, while one driver tested positive for drugs. During the investigations, authorities seized six vehicles, and seven traffic-related cases remain under investigation.
