Police conduct nationwide security checks in Cyprus
Cypriot police conducted a series of coordinated, nationwide security patrols and inspections overnight aimed at maintaining public order. Authorities reported the arrest of 15 individuals for various offenses, including illegal residence, burglary, theft, and traffic violations. During the operation, officers stopped 538 vehicles and checked 713 drivers and passengers. A total of 341 traffic citations were issued, with 125 of those related to speeding. Police also performed 110 alcohol tests, resulting in three positive cases, and two drug tests, which yielded one positive result. Additionally, 37 premises were inspected, leading to three formal complaints, and 18 vehicles were seized as part of ongoing investigations.
