APOEL appoints Zisis Vryzas as athletic director
APOEL has officially announced the appointment of Zisis Vryzas as the club's new athletic director for a two-year term. The Greek official, who was previously in advanced negotiations with PAOK, reportedly opted for the APOEL project due to a more prominent role in transfer planning and better financial terms. Vryzas visited Cyprus for less than 24 hours to finalize the agreement and inspect the Arhangelos training facilities. Simultaneously, the club is prioritizing the search for a new head coach, with Nikos Papadopoulos currently being the top candidate to succeed Pablo Garcia. The club is also restructuring its management, planning to hire a technical director and a football director to modernize operations. Regarding the squad, the goalkeeping position remains under evaluation, featuring Vid Belec, Gabriel Pereira, Andreas Christodoulou, and Savvas Mihos. All these administrative developments occur while the club awaits the finalization of an investment deal involving Savvas Liasis, although the current board continues to manage club finances independently in the interim.
