Apoel Nicosia coaching search and investor negotiations update
Apoel Nicosia is currently evaluating candidates for the position of head coach, with Greek manager Nikos Papadopoulos and Pambos Christodoulou among the names under consideration. The club's spokesperson, Nektarios Petevinos, clarified that no formal proposals have been made to any coach yet and denied reports of a rejection from Ilias Charalambous, stating that all discussions remain at the interview stage. Simultaneously, the club held a general assembly to discuss a non-binding framework agreement with investor Savvas Liasis. Petevinos emphasized that while the club is in talks with the potential investor, the current board remains solely responsible for operational and financial decisions. The process for finalizing the investment structure is estimated to take between two to seven months. Additionally, the club is addressing outstanding financial obligations, including a settlement proposal of 320,000 euros for player El Arabi following a FIFA ruling. Separately, Omonia Nicosia announced a one-year contract extension for goalkeeper Fabiano.
