Konstantinos Laifis renews contract with APOEL
Cypriot international defender Konstantinos Laifis has officially signed a contract extension with APOEL, securing his place at the club until 2029. This decision concludes weeks of intense speculation regarding his future, as AEK Larnaca and Omonia had also expressed significant interest in signing the player. Following this development, AEK Larnaca and sporting director Xavi Roca are now focusing on alternative defensive targets to replace Valentin Roberge, including ongoing efforts to sign Ivan Pankov. Simultaneously, APOEL is moving forward with its own planning under the leadership of newly appointed coach Nikos Papadopoulos. Reports suggest that Papadopoulos, who will sign a two-year contract, is interested in bringing goalkeeper Yury Lodygin to the team. Negotiations regarding team building and budget constraints are currently the primary focus for both clubs as they prepare for the upcoming season.
