Second arrest made in Limassol war memorial theft case
Police in Limassol have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the theft of bronze relief figures and inscriptions from a local war memorial. The theft occurred between March 19 and March 21, 2026, and was reported to authorities by a Germasogeia municipality official on March 21. A 35-year-old suspect was previously arrested on March 25, 2026, after being found in possession of one of the stolen items. That suspect has already been charged and is currently facing trial at the Limassol District Court. Further investigations provided testimony leading to the arrest of the 42-year-old suspect on March 26. He is scheduled to appear before the Limassol District Court for the formal registration of the case against him. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) is continuing the investigation.
