Fatal fall at residential building in Larnaca
On the previous day, three individuals fell from an apartment building in Larnaca, resulting in one fatality. The deceased individual was hospitalized in critical condition at Larnaca General Hospital before passing away. According to Angelos Chatzicharalambous, President of the Larnaca District Self-Government Organization (EOA), the building is owned by over 90 individuals and had been previously flagged as one of 25 structures prioritized for safety inspections. Authorities have long dealt with issues at this site, including concerns regarding structural hazards, nuisance complaints, and illegal residence of foreign nationals. While the building is not considered abandoned, officials emphasize that the large number of owners complicates maintenance and management. The EOA has confirmed that the building was already under evaluation for structural danger prior to the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances, though arrested individuals have reportedly not disclosed the identity of the deceased.
