Meeting held in Polis Chrysochous regarding regional infrastructure development projects
A meeting was held in the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous involving Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Alexis Vafeadis, Chairman of the Cyprus Ports Authority Zenon Apostolou, and local government officials. The primary focus of the discussion was the progress of the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous motorway, the Stroumpi-Polis Chrysochous road, and the planned expansion of the Latsi port. Regarding the first phase of the motorway, Minister Vafeadis stated that the Ministry is prioritizing the technical evaluation of the tender to facilitate timely decision-making. For the second phase, land expropriation procedures are currently underway. The Minister expressed an estimation that a four-lane road network between Polis Chrysochous and Stroumpi would be completed by 2026. Decisions regarding the commencement of works on the first section depend on the formal tender award process and subsequent determinations by the Tender Board. The government's future actions will be guided by these pending administrative decisions.
