Northern Irish couple named tourism ambassadors in Ayia Napa

Ronald Parys and Irene Hughes from Northern Ireland were officially proclaimed tourism ambassadors of Ayia Napa by municipal authorities. The couple received the award after completing 35 visits to the resort town. The ceremony took place at the Ayia Napa town hall, where Deputy Mayor Antonis Christou represented Mayor Christos Zannetou. During the event, the couple was presented with a commemorative plaque and the official Tourism Ambassador emblem. The municipality stated that the recognition serves as a token of appreciation for their long-term loyalty and contribution to promoting the destination. Authorities noted that the couple has visited the region regularly for over three decades. While the English report states the announcement was made on Thursday, the Greek report specifies the ceremony occurred on Tuesday. The officials symbolically referred to the couple as residents of the town due to their frequent and extended stays.
