Henning Berg leads Omonia to championship victory and historic milestone

Omonia Nicosia concluded the 2025-26 season as league champions under the management of Norwegian coach Henning Berg. This victory marks Berg's second league title with the club, following his previous win in the 2020-21 season, making him the seventh coach in Omonia's history to secure at least two championships. Omonia also finished first in the 2019-20 season, which was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A key feature of the recent campaign was the integration of youth academy players, with six graduates—Panagiotis Andreou, Angelos Neofytou, Andreas Christou, Christos Konstantinidis, Konstantinos Panagi, and Chrysis Evangelou—contributing to the first team. Midfielder Panagiotis Andreou was notably recognized as the top young player of the season by the Pancyprian Footballers Association. Looking ahead, the club is prioritizing squad planning, focusing on potential domestic signings and renewals for players including Diounkou, Marits, and Semedo. The team is scheduled to hold training camps in Kyperounta and Poland. Furthermore, Berg and the board have expressed ambitions to reach the UEFA Champions League league phase in the upcoming season.
