Cyprus expands technical middle school program to Famagusta and Paphos

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Cyprus has announced the expansion of the Technical Middle School program to the Famagusta and Paphos districts for the upcoming academic year. This program, which previously operated on a pilot basis during the 2025-2026 school year in Nicosia and Limassol, will continue to utilize an open educational district policy, allowing students to apply regardless of their residential address. Regular morning classes will follow the standard middle school curriculum, while supplementary technical coursework will take place in the afternoons from 14:00 to 15:30. In Nicosia, the program is housed at Agios Stylianos Middle School, while in Limassol, it is hosted at Polemidia Middle School. For the new districts, the program will be based at Kokkinochoria Panos Ioannou Middle School in Famagusta and Panagia Theoskepasti Middle School in Paphos. Interested parents must submit registration applications for the first year of middle school by the deadline of Monday, June 29, 2026.
