Animal Party Cyprus proposes political realignment of the center

The Animal Party of Cyprus, led by Kyriakos Kyriakou, has called for dialogue and cooperation among political groups that failed to enter the House of Representatives following the May 24th elections. The party argues that a significant portion of the electorate currently lacks effective representation. Kyriakou proposes the creation of a political coordination forum involving parties, social organizations, academics, and independent figures to establish common policy goals. Key areas for collaboration include green policy, social justice, animal and environmental protection, transparency, institutional reform, and support for the younger generation. The party acknowledged that any successful restructuring of the centrist political landscape would likely require the participation or consent of DIKO due to its existing parliamentary presence. Looking ahead to the 2028 presidential elections, the initiative aims to form either a unified political entity or a stable coalition of allied forces. The proposal emphasizes the necessity of structured political planning and a clear programmatic foundation to ensure long-term stability and influence.
