Marko Nikolic linked to Besiktas amid AEK contract renewal offer
Serbian coach Marko Nikolic, who recently led AEK to their 14th championship title, is currently the subject of interest from the Turkish club Besiktas. According to Turkish journalist Oguz Oruc, Besiktas has submitted a formal offer for a two-year contract to the coach. Concurrently, AEK is seeking to secure the coach's future in Nea Filadelfeia. Reports from Serbia suggest that AEK management, led by Marios Iliopoulos, intends to extend Nikolic's current contract, which expires in 2027, until the summer of 2028. Nikolic is currently evaluating both proposals from the two clubs. No final decision regarding his career path has been reached as of yet. The coach's successful debut season with AEK has increased interest from abroad, prompting the club's administration to act quickly to prevent his departure.
