25-year-old pleads guilty to double murder in Limassol

A 25-year-old defendant has pleaded guilty to the premeditated murder of 39-year-old Andreas Kouzoupis and 38-year-old David Chmelar. The incident occurred on July 30, 2024, in the Arakapas-Listovounos area of Limassol. The victims' bodies were found charred inside a vehicle on a road between Parekklisia and Kellaki. An autopsy confirmed that both individuals were shot in the head with a shotgun. Following his guilty plea, the defendant will serve as a prosecution witness in the upcoming trial of a 21-year-old co-defendant who maintains his innocence. The Limassol Criminal Court has scheduled the sentencing for early June, where the judge will determine if the life sentences for the two murders will run consecutively. The prosecution is represented by Senior Counsel Andreas Aristeidis.
