Hala Sultan Tekke to be closed for public on May 30
The Department of Antiquities of the Deputy Ministry of Culture announced that the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque in Larnaca will be closed to the general public on Saturday, May 30, 2026. This closure is due to an organized visit by a large number of pilgrims participating in the Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha) celebrations. Access to the archaeological site and the mosque will be restricted for the entire duration of the day. The Department of Antiquities has issued an official apology for any inconvenience caused by this measure. This decision affects the general public, as the site will be exclusively reserved for the pilgrim group. The department has thanked the public for their understanding regarding this temporary adjustment to the site's operations.
