Cystat reports on industrial production and output price indices for early 2026

The state statistical service of Cyprus (Cystat) released data for the first quarter and April 2026. The Industrial Output Price Index reached 121.7 units in April 2026, reflecting a 0.3 per cent monthly increase but a 0.2 per cent annual decrease compared to April 2025. Between January and April 2026, the index remained stable compared to the same period in 2025. April monthly growth was led by water supply and materials recovery at 1.9 per cent. Conversely, the annual decline in output prices was primarily driven by a 6.8 per cent drop in the electricity supply sector. Separately, the Industrial Production Index for March 2026 rose by 4.7 per cent annually to 116.7 units. This March growth included a 19.0 per cent surge in electricity supply and a 9.2 per cent increase in mining and quarrying. Cumulatively, the Industrial Production Index for the first quarter of 2026 grew by 1.5 per cent year-on-year.
