Limassol district court bans 'Globe of Death' acrobatic show

The Limassol District Court issued an order on Friday, May 29, prohibiting the operation of the 'Globe of Death' acrobatic attraction at the Molos seafront. Although the Limassol Municipal Council initially approved the installation for the Kataklysmos holiday weekend, the permit was withheld after municipal services and the Cyprus Fire Service determined the structure failed to meet safety and licensing requirements. Authorities reported that the organizers ignored established conditions and that the installation caused over 30,000 euros in damage to the wooden decking of the Molos promenade. The municipality successfully petitioned the court to intervene, citing serious concerns for public safety. Police have been notified to enforce the prohibition and prevent the attraction from operating during the festivities. Visitors are advised to exercise caution and avoid unauthorized facilities. The show was originally planned to operate from May 29 to June 1.
