Cyprus police implement enhanced traffic measures for the long weekend
The Cyprus Police have announced increased traffic patrols and safety measures for the Pentecost and Kataklysmos holiday period. The measures will be in effect from Saturday, 30 May, through Monday, 1 June. Officers from the Traffic Department are being deployed in higher numbers across motorways, intercity roads, and main arterial routes to manage high traffic volumes. The operation focuses on preventing fatal and serious collisions through targeted checks. Authorities are specifically monitoring for speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drivers are urged to comply with road signs, traffic regulations, and instructions from officers on duty. The police emphasize that public cooperation is essential to minimize accidents during this period of high travel demand.
