President of Cyprus approves 150,000 euro grant for Pafos Aphrodite Festival
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, has approved a government grant of 150,000 euros to support the Pafos Aphrodite Festival. This announcement was made by the acting Mayor of Pafos, Angelos Onisiforou. The 24th edition of the festival is scheduled to take place on September 4 and 5 at the Medieval Castle Square in Pafos. The event will feature two performances of Gaetano Donizetti’s comic opera, L’Elisir d’Amore. The production will be staged by the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia with the participation of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Festival organizers thanked the President for the financial support, noting that the event has become an established cultural institution held annually in early September.
