Cyprus national football team prepares for June friendlies
The Cyprus national men's football team is traveling to play two international friendlies in June against Slovenia and Liechtenstein. The first match against Slovenia is scheduled for June 4th at 19:00 at the Stožice Stadium in Ljubljana, followed by a match against Liechtenstein on June 7th at 16:00 in Vaduz. Coach Apostolos Mantzios stated that these games are essential for player development and preparation ahead of the UEFA Nations League campaign this autumn. The team will be competing in League C of the Nations League against Montenegro, Latvia, and Armenia. FIFA regulations for these friendlies allow up to ten substitutions per team during the matches. The match against Slovenia will be officiated by Croatian referee Patrik Kolarić and broadcast on RIK. The team traveled to Ljubljana with a squad of 27 players, including Ioannis Pittas, Grigoris Kastanos, and Fabiano Freitas, following final preparations at the Archangelos training center.
