Irene Charalambidou seeks new parliamentary assistant
Member of Parliament Irene Charalambidou has issued a public call for applications to fill the position of parliamentary assistant in her office. This recruitment follows the recent departure of her former assistant, Andreas Charalambous, who resigned citing alleged political inconsistency. Charalambidou stated that while it is common practice for MPs to hire individuals from their existing professional or personal circles, she intends to provide an opportunity to young people who possess the necessary academic and professional qualifications. Interested candidates are required to submit their resumes to the email address tosizitame@cytanet.com.cy by the deadline of June 10, 2026. The initial interview process will be conducted online. During the announcement, politician Eleni Theocharous humorously inquired whether the vacancy was also open to individuals over the age of 70. This hiring process is intended to restore the vacancy left in the wake of the recent staff departure.
