European Best Destinations ranks top European beaches

The organization European Best Destinations has released its latest ranking of the top 10 beaches in Europe. The list is topped by Monte Clerigo in Aljezur, Portugal, noted for its natural landscape. Five Greek beaches secured spots in the top ten rankings. Voutoumi beach on Antipaxos holds the second position, while Fteri beach on Kefalonia ranks third. Elafonisi in Crete occupies the fourth spot, followed by Rovinia in Corfu at eighth and Paleokastritsa in Corfu at tenth place. Three of these Greek locations were also included in the separate list of the world's 50 best beaches. Fteri beach is highlighted as being accessible only by boat or via a steep hiking trail, offering a secluded environment. The report highlights these areas for their natural characteristics rather than commercial development.
