Cypriot athletes qualify for the 2026 NCAA track and field finals

Cypriot athletes Iosif Michalis Papa, Valentina Savva, and Christiana Ellina have secured their spots in the 2026 NCAA track and field finals. On May 28, 2026, hammer thrower Valentina Savva qualified from the West region by placing first with a throw of 69.18 meters, while javelin thrower Christiana Ellina qualified from the East after finishing in the 12th position. On May 29, 2026, discus thrower Iosif Michalis Papa also qualified from the East regional meet in Lexington, Kentucky, with a best throw of 57.72 meters. This marks Papa's second consecutive qualification for the NCAA finals. The NCAA championship finals are scheduled to take place in Eugene, Oregon, from June 10 to June 13, 2026. Savva, a student at UC Berkeley, and Ellina will join Papa in representing Cyprus at the event.
