Police officers injured during arrest in Famagusta district
On the afternoon of the previous day at approximately 5:30 p.m., police officers from the Xylofagou and Xylotymbou stations attempted to arrest a 29-year-old man in a village within the Famagusta district. The individual had an outstanding arrest warrant due to his failure to appear in court for pending legal cases. Upon the arrival of the police officers at his residence, the suspect threatened them while armed with a knife and a box cutter. During the confrontation, the man attacked the officers, causing abrasions to their hands. The police successfully neutralized and apprehended the suspect at the scene. Following the incident, the two injured officers were transported to the Famagusta General Hospital. Both officers received first aid and were subsequently discharged from the medical facility.
