President Christodoulides to pay first official visit to Kazakhstan

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides will travel to Astana, Kazakhstan, on June 2, 2026, for his first official visit to the country. The delegation, which includes government ministers and a group of fifty business representatives, will travel on the first direct flight between the two nations. On June 3, President Christodoulides will hold private and expanded bilateral talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. During the visit, President Tokayev will present his Cypriot counterpart with the Order of Friendship. The program includes an address at the Cyprus-Kazakhstan Business Forum and the official inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Astana. Several Memoranda of Understanding will be signed covering higher education, research, culture, sports, information and communication technologies, cybersecurity, and e-governance. Additionally, an agreement will be signed between the Chambers of Commerce of both countries. President Christodoulides is also scheduled to visit the Alem AI center before returning to Cyprus on Thursday, June 4.
