Tourist fined for swimming in Trevi Fountain for social media content
A female tourist entered the historic Trevi Fountain in Rome to film content for TikTok. Witnesses and videos show the woman ignoring repeated commands from a security guard to exit the water. Despite the guard's vocal protests and gestures, she remained in the fountain for several minutes while recording herself. The incident caused significant disapproval among the crowd of visitors at the site. Following the event, Roman police issued her a fine of 500 euros for violating regulations protecting the monument. Additionally, she received an administrative ban from the monument area.
