Investigation launched following the death of a 39-year-old woman in Kalamata

On Monday morning, a 39-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment in Kalamata. Following reports from neighbors who heard shouts around 2:00 a.m., police arrived at the scene. The woman's 41-year-old husband opened the door with visible traces of blood on him. Inside the bedroom, authorities discovered the victim with multiple wounds and a knife nearby. The husband was subsequently arrested and is facing charges of intentional homicide. Two minor children of the couple were taken to the pediatric clinic of Kalamata Hospital for precautionary monitoring. The Kalamata Sub-directorate for Crimes against Life is currently leading the investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
