Kataklysmos festival events held in Larnaca and Ayia Napa

Cyprus is celebrating the annual Kataklysmos festival with extensive events held across several coastal cities. In Larnaca, a six-day program running until June 3 features concerts, folk competitions, and traditional performances across four stages located at Finikoudes, Europe Square, and the Medieval Castle. Notably, fireworks have been canceled this year in Larnaca following safety recommendations from the Civil Aviation Authority. Meanwhile, Ayia Napa concluded its three-day festival on June 1, which included a Fish Festival and a Water Festival attended by Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannou. Ayia Napa Mayor Christos Zannettou highlighted the importance of these traditions for local culture and tourism. In both regions, authorities reported high visitor turnout, providing a boost to the local hospitality and tourism sectors. Larnaca is also offering a new free Park & Ride service to manage traffic during the festivities.
