Weather forecast and upcoming temperature changes in Cyprus
Meteorological reports indicate varying weather patterns for the island of Cyprus. According to Kitasweather, the region is transitioning from cooler conditions to a period of intense heat starting August 31. Temperatures are forecasted to reach +39°C in the capital and central districts, while coastal areas will see ranges between +34°C and +35°C. Projections suggest that during the first weekend of September, temperatures will exceed +40°C, potentially peaking at +43°C on September 3 and 4, which could challenge the 2018 record of +42.5°C measured in Athalassa. In a separate report regarding conditions on June 1, the Republic of Cyprus meteorological service noted much milder temperatures reaching +32°C inland and +22°C to +28°C in coastal and mountainous regions. That forecast included the possibility of local rain and thunderstorms in Troodos. These two sources reflect different seasonal reporting periods and distinct weather events.
