AEK Athens reaches agreement to sign Oleksandr Zubkov from Trabzonspor
AEK Athens has reportedly reached a definitive agreement with Trabzonspor to acquire 29-year-old Ukrainian attacking midfielder Oleksandr Zubkov. The transfer was announced on June 1, 2026, citing reports from Fabrizio Romano. The player, who is a left-footed winger capable of playing behind the striker, is expected to travel to Athens soon to undergo medical examinations. Upon successful completion, he is set to sign a four-year contract, keeping him with the club until 2030. Zubkov’s market value is estimated at approximately 6 million euros, and he holds prior professional experience with Shakhtar Donetsk. This signing is intended to bolster the AEK roster for the upcoming season, specifically to meet the demands of domestic competition and potential Champions League participation. While some sources note his current contract with Trabzonspor was valid until 2029, the transition is proceeding as a full transfer.
