Aris Limassol extends contract with goalkeeper Vana Alves
Aris Limassol has officially announced a one-year contract extension for Brazilian goalkeeper Vana Alves, securing his presence at the club for a sixth season. Alves joined the team in July 2021 and has since made 179 appearances across all competitions, the highest number for any player in the club's history. During his five-year tenure, he kept a clean sheet in 69 of those matches, representing a 38.5% success rate. The veteran goalkeeper played a key role in the team's 2022-23 league title victory and the 2023 Super Cup win. Additionally, Alves remains the only player to have participated in all 18 European matches played by Aris Limassol. Club spokesperson Kostas Papadopoulos confirmed that the decision was mutual, following a period where the player's future had been uncertain due to fluctuating performance levels throughout the season.
