Forest fire contained in Fyti, Paphos

A forest fire occurred in the Kakovounaros area of Fyti community, Paphos district, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The Department of Forests reported that the fire started at 09:05. Firefighting forces responded immediately to the scene. Seven personnel from the Department of Forests, utilizing one fire engine, participated in the suppression operation. The fire was successfully brought under control by 09:40. It burned a small area of low-lying vegetation. No injuries or structural damage were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
