Paphos municipality launches upgrade of public bus stops

Acting Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, announced that the municipality has begun a gradual program to replace outdated bus stops throughout the city. The work commenced in the tourist district, which experiences high daily traffic, with the goal of installing modern, safe, and functional facilities. This decision follows criticism from the Paphos Regional Board of Tourism in September, which described the previous state of the stops as unacceptable and damaging to the city's image. The tourism board had specifically called for repairs to be completed before the tourism season begins in February. Municipality officials stated that the project will eventually expand to all districts to improve public infrastructure for both residents and visitors. The upgrades are being coordinated by the Municipal Council and local services as part of a broader effort to modernize city amenities.
