Lifeguards rescue 20-year-old swimmer in Limassol
On Monday, June 24, during the Kataklysmos festival, a 20-year-old swimmer faced life-threatening difficulties at the Malindi beach area in Limassol. The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. near the LEM 4 lifeguard station. Lifeguards from the LEM 4 station intervened immediately and recovered the young man from the water. They provided first aid and administered oxygen to stabilize his condition. Assistance was also provided by the crew from the neighboring LEM 3 lifeguard station. Following the rescue, the man was transported by ambulance to the Limassol General Hospital for precautionary medical checks. Doctors confirmed that he is in good health and his condition is not considered concerning. The Limassol Lifeguard Unit cited the event as proof of the vital importance of lifeguard presence on local beaches.
