Kostas Fortounis returns to Olympiacos

On June 2, 2026, Olympiacos FC officially announced the return of 33-year-old midfielder Kostas Fortounis. The Greek international had previously departed the club in the summer of 2024 following the historic UEFA Europa Conference League title victory to join the Saudi Arabian club Al-Khaleej. During his time in Saudi Arabia, he recorded 10 goals and 12 assists in 30 appearances. Between 2014 and 2024, Fortounis made 343 appearances for Olympiacos, scoring 94 goals and providing 106 assists while winning six league titles and two cups. The player expressed his commitment to helping the team compete for honors both domestically and in Europe. Olympiacos confirmed he will wear his familiar number 7 jersey again. The club and the player mutually stated that this return was a natural step for both parties.
